VANCE Mary Jeanette Pond, age 69, of Vance, died Aug. 19, 2007, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Lowerytown Baptist Church in West Blocton with Rev. John Thomas and Rev. Keith Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Vance Cemetery with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.Her husband, Harvey "Yank" Pond, her daughter, Donna Jo West, her parents, Eugene and Linnie Porter, and her brother, Jimmy Porter, preceded her in death.Survivors include her daughter, Kim (Darryl) Bearden of West Blocton; son, John W. (Sherry) West of Vance; sister, Faye (Wayne) Simmons of West Blocton; brother, Tommy (Brenda) Porter of Tuscaloosa; and grandchildren, Patrick West, Austin Bearden, Summer West, and Jason Bearden.Mrs. Pond graduated from Brookwood High School in 1956. She was a loving, devoted mom, grandmom, sister, aunt and friend.Pallbearers will be Wayne Simmons, Patrick West, Austin Bearden, Darryl Bearden, Dale Porter and Michael Porter.
