Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 11 am at Highland Avenue Church of Christ, 2800 North Highland Avenue, with Brother Darryl Beasley, officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Florida and a resident of Tampa for 81 years. She attended George Washington Carver and was a member of Highland Avenue Church of Christ. She was employed as a Candler at Pine Breeze Egg Plant. She was preceded in death by her husband for 40 years, Otis. She leaves to cherish her memory: 2 loving daughters, Bessie and husband Artis Williamson and Katharyn Hubbard, all of Tampa; 4 grandchildren, Marshana Borders, Reginald Thurman, Sr., Shawndette Thurman and Ricardo Thurman; 10 great-grandchildren, Cecelia, Synovia, Reggie, DeVawn, Tiana, Eric, Amillio, Coresha, Ymani, and Zion; 8 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-grandchild, Maurvion of Lakeland; 2 sisters, Ruth Morris and family of Arkansas and Ola Mae Thurston and husband Earl of Tampa; 1 sister-in-law, Annie Johnson; and 1 brother-in-law, Luther Johnson, both of Tampa; close family friend, Janet Smith and family; a host of nieces and nephews and her Church of Christ family who knew her as Mama and Grandma. The remains will repose after 5 pm Friday, May 2, 2014, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
