JACKSON, Mary Ellen (nee McDaid). October 5, 1922 - February 16, 2004. Gently, in the loving presence of her daughters Maureen and Shirley, Mae concluded her valiant, silent battle on Valentine's night. Mae died in Toronto, was born in Letterkenny, Ireland, but lived, loved and laughed on the Lakeshore in Montreal. Mae was a member of the W.A.F. in England in World War II, then emigrated to Pointe Claire with her husband, Alan, at the war's conclusion. It was here that Mae flourished. She raised her family, she built her own small business, became a lifelong member of the Christian Women's Association and the Horticultural Society and found time to create her beautiful garden. Her life in Montreal was spent in deep friendship and with her beloved dogs. Survived by her daughters and two granddaughters Laura and Erica. Mae will be missed and cherished by these she touched... Donations in lieu of flowers to the S.P.C.A. I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so".
