MANCHESTER -- Mary J. Sullivan, 78, died Jan. 25, 2009, at Community Hospice House, after a period of declining health. She was born in Manchester on Aug. 26, 1930, the daughter of John and Genevieve (Ryan) Griffin. She was a lifelong city resident who had summered at Rye Beach for 16 years. Mrs. Sullivan graduated from Saint Joseph High School for Girls, class of 1948. She spent her life as a homemaker. She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Most recently, she was a member of Saint Pius X Church. Mrs. Sullivan will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose family was the center of her life. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. IN HER LIFE: She leaves her two beloved grandsons, Kyle Sullivan and Shane Sullivan, both of Bedford. She was predeceased by two brothers, William Griffin and John Griffin. Family members include her husband of 55 years, Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. of Manchester; her son, Daniel J. Sullivan III of Bedford; her sister, Mrs. Hugh (Barbara) Dickson of Manchester; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union St., corner of Concord Street, Manchester. The funeral is Wednesday with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Saint Pius X Church, Candia Road, Manchester. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
