MIDDLETOWN SPRINGS - Mary Jane (Powers) Lavallee, 90, formerly of Middletown Springs, died April 29, 2011, at her home in Louisville, Ky. She was born May 10, 1920, in Middletown Springs, the daughter of Arthur and Esther (Johnson) Powers. She was a graduate of Middletown Springs High School and married Harold Lavallee on Oct. 3, 1939, in Rutland. Mrs. Lavallee was a homemaker and a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Louisville. Survivors include four children, Barbara Repasky of Titusville, Pa., Diane Lavallee of Louisville, Suzanne Manchester of Granville, N.Y., and Charles Lavallee of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband; a son, James Lavallee; an infant daughter, Margaret Lavallee; a sister, Marion Hanley, and a brother, Henry Powers; a half-sister and two half-brothers. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Middletown Springs with the Rev. Robert Whalen officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery in Middletown Springs. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Hosparus-Hospice of Louisville, 3532 Ephraim McDowell Drive, Louisville, KY 40205. Arrangements are under the direction of the Durfee Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Fair Haven.
