Mary Irene Cobb Smith, 101, of Florence, passed away March 22, 2013, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home. She was a member of the Baptist church and retired from Barber's Cafeteria as a dessert cook.Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, in Greenview Memorial Chapel, with David Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley's Chapel Cemetery.Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Smith; parents, Charlie and Lula Cobb; sons, Earl, Gaines and James Smith; daughters, Earline Smith and Helen McClendon; several grandchildren.She is survived by her daughters, Hazel Owens (Larry), of Florence, Agnes Mesaros (Bill), of South Bend, Ind.; son, Paul Smith (Gloria), of Killen; 19 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great grandchildren.Active pallbearers will be Bryan McNatt, Rick Blocker, Bradley Conley, Matt McNatt, Greg Darby and Junior Hall.Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Blocker and Dale Conley.Special thanks to all of granny's special girls at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home.
