Mary Hughes of Carmel, New York, died at home on January 31, 2007 at the age of 96, just weeks shy of her 97th birthday. She is survived by her daughters Miriam Fulling of Hilton Head, SC, Dymphna Lotrecchiano of Carmel, NY and son-in-law Al Lotrecchiano. She is also survived by five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Mary dedicated her life to teaching children, beginning at Saint Agnes Elementary School in New York City, Saint Barnabas School in Yonkers, Saint Lawrence O'Toole in Brewster, and finally retired from JFK Elementary School in Brewster in 1975. There will be a family visitation between 9:30 am and 10:30 am at Cargain Funeral Home on Saturday, February 3, 2007 followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel at 11:00 am.
