AUBURN, Maine -- Mrs. Mary Hood of Auburn, Maine, a winter resident of Lake Wales, died of heart failure Monday (May 2, 2005) at The Grove Center. She was 78.Born in Brewer, Maine, on Jan. 21, 1927, she became a winter resident of Lake Wales 17 years ago, coming from Auburn. She was a recovery unit clerk at the Maine Medical Center. She was a member of the Saddlebag Community Church.Mrs. Hood is survived by her husband, Nelson A. Hood; daughters, Sherryl Smith and Paula Burgess, both of South Portland, Maine; stepdaughters, Deborah Nuemiester, Oakland, Maine, and Louella Hood, Jacksonville; stepson, Rickie Hood, Auburn; sister, Virginia Williamson, Upton, Maine; three grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.Memorial services will be held at a later date.
