Mary Hart Services: Have been held. Mary Arleen Hart, 87, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006. She was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Endee, N.M. She married Earl (Punk) Hart in Tucumcari. She was an active member of the Third Street Church of Christ and also volunteered as chairman of the Quay County Chapter of the American Cancer Society for many years. Her family said she was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, grace and dignity as well as greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Curtis Johnson and V. C. (Barney) Johnson; two sisters, Jewel Hammons and Ruby Cooper. She is survived by a sister, Rosalie Johnson of Dallas; a daughter, Kathryn Edes (and husband, Melvin) of Amarillo; a son, O. J. Hart (Gloria) of Albuquerque; two grandsons, Allen Shankles (Carrie) of Amarillo and Christopher Hart (Jill) of Dallas; three great-grandchildren, Jordan and Alexa Shankles of Amarillo and Ryan Hart of Dallas. Services were held at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel; burial followed in Tucumcari. Family requests memorials be sent to American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell Street, Amarillo, TX 79109. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors in Amarillo.
