Mary "Nanny" Harris departed this life October 18, 2005. She was born February 12, 1924, to John and Cora (Erickson) Russell in Preston, Mo. Nanny was preceded in death by her husband, Therin daughters, Patty and Ruby son, Robert and two granddaughters. Nanny is survived by a daughter, Sherrie, of Springfield, and a son, Therin, Jr., of Fair Grove. Also surviving are a brother, Earl Russell, Blue Springs three sisters, Eunice Hill, Macks Creek, Jessie Hemme, Concordia, and Marty Raffty, Kansas City 18 grandchildren 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Nanny was laid to rest October 22, 2005, in Greenlawn North Cemetery. Nanny will be missed by all who knew her. She was our family's rock. She loved, nurtured, advised, and cared for every single one of us. Our loss is the Lord's gain, for she will surely be in charge of all the Lord's fried chicken dinners from now on.
