(nee White) Peacefully, in the Ottawa Hospital - General Campus on November 4th, 2001 at the age of 76 with her youngest son, Gord, by her side, after a brief illness. Born in Springhill, Scotland on May 28th, 1925, Mary "Hope" the fifth child and only daughter of the late Alexander Duncan White and the late Annie Rouse both of Glasgow, Scotland. Beloved wife of the late Daniel "Danny" E.A. Roberts. Also predeceased by her first son Daniel Alexander "Alex" Roberts and her elder brother Ian White and his late wife Annie. Loving mother of Elizabeth Nance Ackerman (Pete) of Edmonton, Alberta, Diane Christine Roberts (Joseph Gougeon) of Mansfield, Quebec and Gordon Edward Roberts of Ottawa, Ontario. Hope will be fondly mourned by her brothers and their wives back at home: Alexander William (Bea) of Maidenhead, England, Andrew (May) of Garrowhill, Scotland, James Rouse (Sarah) of Galderbraes, Scotland and Robert Reid (Margaret) of Garrowhill, Scotland. Also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on her husband's side and many nieces and nephews. Loving Granny of Peter Jr., Leanne, Tasha and Aaron. Great-grandmother of Damien and Shantelle who will fondly remember her "Great Gran". A very special thank you to nurse Reina for caring for so many years and the ICU nurses Julie and Michelle. At Hope's request there will be no visitation but there will be a private grave-side service held on November 9th, 2001 at the Merivale Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to join the congregation at the 11:00 a.m. service on Sunday, November 11th, 2001 at the Merivale United Church, located at 1876 Merivale Road, Nepean, Ontario, Funeral arangements entrusted to McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home.
