MARY H.PURVIS, 49Homemaker LAKELAND - Mrs. Mary H. Purvis, age 49, died of cancer Saturday (April 5, 2008). Born April 15, 1958, in Viana, Georgia, Mary was a lifelong resident of Lakeland and a member of Griffin Baptist Church. Mary was the family mediator. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, spending time with kids and grandkids, and she loved Daytona Beach. Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her father Burt Jones, Jr., and sister Donna Barlow. She is survived by her husband Harry Purvis, Lakeland; daughters Kim Paul, Jessica Shoe, both of Lakeland; grandchildren Amber, Preston, Chelsie, Taylor, Corey and Bradley; great grandchild Hunter; mother Myrtis Owens; sisters, Marie Combee, Gloria Monroe, Darlene Ray, Vera Jambeter, all of Lakeland, Marsha Youghn, Talford, TN.; brothers, David Jones, Buddy Jones, both of Lakeland, Mike Jones, Bristol, FL. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Griffin Baptist Church in Lakeland. Lanier Funeral Home.
