Mitchell, Mary Gwendolyn "Dinnie" (nee Wilson) Dinnie passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27th, 2006 in her 85th year. Cherished wife and soulmate of 62 years to John Burke Mitchell. Devoted mother of Jeffrey Charles Mitchell and wife RoseAnn of Barrie. Loving sister of Edith Lee of Ottawa. Dinnie joins her daughters Judy (1991), Martha (1989), her parents Ernest and Sarah, brothers Ernest and Harold in eternal peace. Proud Baba of Martina, Sarah, John Joseph, Holly (Trevor), Joe, and Mitchell; and great-grandmother of Hannah and Alexia. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Born in Ingersoll, Dinnie was a graduate of Branksome Hall and University of Toronto. Dinnie was an active member in her church, serving on the Alter Guild as well as in her community of Ingersoll. Dinnie enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, summers in Muskoka, playing bridge and fun times with "Les Gals". Sincere thanks to all of Dinnie's many neighbours and friends in Ingersoll and Muskoka; along with the parishioners and ministers of St. James Anglican in Ingersoll, St. John's of Beaumaris, and St. George's Anglican of Barrie, who responded with prayer, and many acts of kindness. The family wishes to thank all the staff members of Roberta Place for their compassion and support for both Dinnie and John. Friends may call at the Jennett Chapel of the McCLELLAND & SLESSOR Funeral Home, 152 Bradford St., Barrie on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, 9 Granville Ave., Barrie on Wednesday February 1st, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the spring at St. Mark's Cemetery, Milford Bay.
