Mary Geraldine (Jeri) Cox of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away Nov. 10, 2010, at a local hospital.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henry Cox; and son, James Robert Cox Sr. She is survived by her sons, Richard Allen Cox (Virginia) of Grand Forks, N.D. and William Edward Cox (Anissa) of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Christy, Bobby Jr., Jeremy, Jackie, Joanna, Janice, Clayton and Logan; and 12 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her three best friends, Bonnie, Dixie and June, better known as "The Biker Babes."She was the proud wife of an Air Force veteran. After her husband's retirement from the Air Force they spent many years working with children at the Baptist Home for Children in Jacksonville, which brought her great fulfillment. The focus of her life was her family and her faith and service with the Lord Jesus Christ. Jeri was the last surviving original member of First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach. She was very active in the choir, doing missionary work and loved working in the nursery. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road N.E., Fort Walton Beach.Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach with Dr. Howard Gates of-ficiating.
