Mary Fuller Carter LAURENS, SC-- Mary Fuller Carter, 87, of 13 Wallace Street and husband of the late Rev. James Louis Carter, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012, at The Hospice House of Laurens County in Clinton. Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Edna Phillips Fuller. Mrs. Carter attended Lucas Avenue Baptist Church and was a member of the ABC Sunday School Class. She was formerly employed at Ben Franklin 5 & 10 and was greeter at Hardees in Clinton. Surviving are a brother, John F. Fuller and wife Betty of Gray Court; two sisters, Frances and Shirley Fuller both of Laurens; a daughter-in-law, Linda Carter of Spartanburg; five grandchildren, Marla Abbott, Dennis Carter, Jr. and wife Leah, Patrick Carter and wife Mandy, John L. Carter and wife Jennifer, and Joye Kirby and husband Randy all of Spartanburg; eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Carrie Lou Fuller of Newport News, VA; cousins, Lib Bolt of Laurens and Bettie Pursley of Atlanta, GA; and close friend, Beverly Hall of Laurens. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Rev. Dr. G. Dennis Carter; a granddaughter, Melody Carter; and two brothers, Bobby Fuller and Claude Fuller, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday April 7, 2012, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Bob Cato and Rev. Bryan Brock, with entombment at Forest Lawn Mausoleum. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at Kennedy Mortuary from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
