Mary Frances Parker Lee went home to be with the Lord at 2:56 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, in Port St. Joe, Fla. She was born Aug. 20, 1915, to Peter and Martha Reynolds Parker in Parker, Fla. Frances married Ruben Buck Lee in 1935 and they resided in Parker all their married life. She retired after a full career with Southern Bell Telephone Co. Frances was a longtime member of Parker Baptist Church, moving her membership to Temple Baptist Church where her daughter and son-in-law attend. She was a member of Chapter 96, Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid gardener, grew beautiful flowers, and enjoyed collecting antiques as well as visiting historical places. Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Buck. She is survived by a daughter, Martha Frances Ross and husband, Bob, of Lynn Haven, Fla.; son, Ruben James Lee of Key Largo, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. Winnifred Davis of Parker, Fla., and Mrs. Doris Jean Weidner and husband, Richard, of Baltimore, Ohio; grandson, Robert Lee Ross and wife, Kris, of Callaway, Fla.; and three great-grandsons, Parker Lee Ross, Pierson Brody Ross and David Daniels, also of Callaway, Fla. Special love, appreciation and eternal thanks go to Mom's caregiver, Evelyn Stansel, and her family of Port St. Joe, Fla., for years of faithful service in caring for our mother. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009, in the chapel of Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Rehberg officiating. Interment will follow at Parker Cemetery.
