<!-- FH = Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, 931-645-6488 -->Mary Fay Hinton FreemanMary Fay Hinton Freeman of Auburn, Alabama (formerly of Clarksville, TN), died peacefully at home on Friday, June 10, 2011.Born December 14, 1912 in Montgomery County, TN to the late William Burr and Mattie Trotter Hinton.She married Mr. John Erbin Freeman on July 4, 1934. She served her community well, most notably through her years of faithful service teaching third grade at Cumberland Heights Elementary School. Though she enjoyed her post-retirement years in Auburn, a certain piece of her heart and a definite legacy through countless young lives remained in Montgomery County. Lifelong members of Madison Street United Methodist Church, Mary and John enjoyed 60 years of marriage before his death in 2004. She is preceded in death as well by Dr. John Daniel Freeman, their only son, an Auburn University botany professor, in 1997.Survivors include daughter-in-law, Ruth Fussell Freeman of Auburn, AL; two grandchildren, Danna Freeman Beale (Michael) of Deatsville, AL and John Trotter Freeman (Kotoko) of Gotenba, Japan; four great grandchildren, Anna Caroline and John Michael Beale, John Ryoma and Kotone Trillium Freeman; nephews, Ralph Phillips (Sue), Marshall Hinton, Ray Hinton (Gale), Don (Martha) Hinton, Jack H. Ray and Tom Phillips (Linda); nieces, Margaret Griffey (Gene), Lora Jean Johnson (Bobby), Laura Shaia, Martha Ann Burnette (Ben), Jane Caldwell (Ron) and Gayle Morgan (Jim); as well as many great nieces and nephews.As she taught us much about strength, faith in God, and perseverance, she leaves fingerprints on our hearts forever.Visitation will be 4 til 7 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2011 and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Michael Beale officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.Memorials can be made to WellSpring Community Church, P.O.
