DUPLESSIS, MARY EVELYN THERESA (ROGERS) Evelyn DuPlessis, 86, died peacefully at home, June 15, 2004. She is survived by her beloved husband, Johnson, their children, Joan (Al) Mack, Nancy DuPlessis, Harvey DuPlessis, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a sister, Anne (Ron) Roberts of Ottawa. In addition to her parents, Thomas and Theresa (Ryan) Rogers, she was predeceased by a sister, Jean Derry, and three brothers, Tom, Gerald and Blair Rogers. Evelyn was generous with her time, always available to help her family, friends and community. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, a member of the Pythian Sisters, and a Charter member of the Carleton York Chapter of the I.O.D.E. Evelyn loved and appreciated all of the simple things in her life-her flower garden, her home in Marysville, her cottage at Scotch Lake, her neighbours and friends, her children and grandchildren, but most of all, Johnson her husband of 63 years. She was a true Lady - known for her "afternoon teas", her stylish clothes, and her wonderful collection of hats. She had the spirit of a Lady, too, with her kind, sympathetic nature, and her ability to always know the "right" thing to do. Evelyn will be greatly missed by all who knew her-but she will never be forgotten, as we will carry her always in our memories. There will be no formal service, but all of Evelyn's family and friends are invited to drop in at 14 Marysville Street on Friday, June 18 from 2 to 4 pm to honour and remember her life. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society, Parkinson's Foundation or an organization of the donor's choice would be appreciated. York Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements (458-9538).
