Mary Eva VanHise Hart NEW BERN, NC - Mary Eva VanHise Hart, 84, a resident of The Courtyards, New Bern, NC, died on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at Geisinger Health Hospital, Danville, PA. She was formerly a resident of Oriental, NC and Pennington, NJ. During her life she dedicated herself to being a farm wife, owner of The Red Pin Cushion in Pennington, NJ, volunteering with the Girl Scouts and 4-H Clubs in Mercer County, NJ, and was also an amateur photographer, traveler and member of Oriental UMC and the Sojourners Circle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Emma Swain Margerum VanHise; a brother, George Anthony VanHise, all of Churchville, PA and a brother, Edwin Albert VanHise of Goldsboro, NC. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Benjamin Hart Jr. of The Courtyards, New Bern, NC. She is also survived by sister, Mildred Emma VanHise Wenzel of Frisco, NC; son, Daniel B. Hart of Hamilton, NJ and by two daughters, Cheryl L. Wyatt and husband, Lindsey, of Cove City, NC and Susan J. Hefty and husband, Harry, of Watsontown, PA; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Dec. 3 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Rd., Pennington, NJ with a funeral service immediately following with the Rev. Daniel B. Casselberry, pastor of the Pennington United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be held at Harbourton Cemetery, Harbourton, NJ.
