SHANNON, Mary Eva Suzanne (nee Adams) At home in Ottawa (Orleans), with her family by her side, Eva passed away on September 29, 2009, at the age of 88 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She joins her beloved husband, Charles (1953) and youngest daughter, Donna (2006). She is also predeceased by her parents Suzanne (Cassivi) and Stephen Adams, and nine brothers and sisters. She will be greatly missed by her surviving children Charles, Steve, Linda and Doreen (Marc MacKay). She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Stephanie Plamondon (Jovani Tavera), Ulric Shannon (Robin Wettlaufer), Leslie Baird (Dan Muldoon) and Kyle Baird (Becky Lynes). She leaves behind her great-grandson, Noah Patrick Muldoon, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and in-laws. She had a special place in her heart for Barry Baird, Monique Plamondon and Alan Bones. Our heartfelt appreciation to the people who made her last years happy and comfortable -- the staff of EORC, CCAC, Saint Elizabeth Health Care, Dr. Kathleen Kelly and, especially, Donna Scharf. Until she contracted cancer in 2000, Eva had been very active and outgoing -- traveling the world and square-dancing with her daughter Linda. Although the disease sapped her strength, she remained friendly, cheerful and feisty to the end. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2370 St. Joseph Blvd. (Orleans), on Saturday, October 3, after 10 a.m. The Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 12 noon. Interment at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery (Montreal) on Friday, October 9, at 2 pm.
