Mary Etta Long, 78, of Dahlonega died Thursday. Born in Hall County to the late John B. Gordon Black and Zonia Walden Black, she was a homemaker and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Lumpkin County. She also was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray Black and Clifton Black; and a sister, Alma Gardner. Survivors include her husband, John D. Long, Dahlonega; son, Stacey Long, Dahlonega; brothers, Kinsey Black, Braselton, Floyd Black, Eatonton, and Faye D. Black, Gainesville; sisters, Thelma Brigman, Cheraw, S.C., and Rachel Willoughby, Winder; and three grandchildren. The family received friends all day Saturday and Sunday until the time of service at the funeral home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Lumpkin County. The Rev. Charles Buice and the Rev. Buddy Cross will officiate.
