Mary Elvia Davis, 96, Valrico, and formerly of DeSoto County, died April 28, 2005. She was born Sept. 15, 1908, in Lily and was a homemaker and a descendent of pioneer families of the Peace River Valley. She was a member of Limestone Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Arcadia, and of Highland Park Baptist Church in Miami since 1949. Survivors include a son, John B. of Valrico; a niece, Diane Telesca of Miami; two grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Ponger-Kays- Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lily Cemetery.
