Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Eloise Davis Burgess, 91, will be Wednesday, June 8, 2011, 10 a.m., Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim McCain officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Burgess passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, AL. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Talladega, for 64 years, taught Sunday School and volunteered in many activities at the church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Burgess and great grandson Seth Lee Miller. She is survived by her son, Mike Burgess of Alpine, daughter, Judy Mock of Talladega, granddaughter, Mindy Scoggins (Jimmy) of Helena, granddaughter, Susan Mock of Talladega, granddaughter, Robin Jones of Pelham, grandson, Michael Burgess of Alpine, grandson, John Mock (Amanda) of Perdido, FL, granddaughter, Christy Bramblett (Ben) of Maryville, TN, grandson, Jeremy Burgess of Homewood, great-granddaughter, Jennifer Garrett (Jamie) of Helena, great-granddaughter, Meredith Smith (Scott) of Talladega, great-grandson, Jason Scoggins (Denise) of Alabaster, great-granddaughter, Lauren Sims (Elliott) of Birmingham, great-granddaughter, Lindsay Edmonds (Mark) of Birmingham, great-grandson, Camden Jones of Hoover, great-granddaughter, Mary Mock of Talladega, great-granddaughter, Sara Mock of Talladega, great-grandson, John David Mock of Talladega, great-grandson, Eli Mock of Talladega, great-great-grandchildren, Reed and Rhett Garrett of Helena, great-great-grandchildren, Brady and Carson Smith of Talladega, her namesake Mary Eloise Scoggins due July 5th, great-great-granddaughters, India and Alice Bramblett of Maryville, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 8th, 9 a.m-10 am. Pallbearers are Camden Jones, Jason Scoggins, Jamie Garrett, Reed Garrett, Elliott Sims, Mark Edmonds.
