MORGAN, Mary Ellen 1917 - 2006 Mrs. Mary Ellen Morgan (nee White), beloved wife of the late Mr. Cliff Morgan of Calgary, passed away peacefully at Bethany CollegeSide, Red Deer on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the age of 88 years. Mary was born on November 19, 1917 at Clivale, Alberta. Mom moved with her family at the age of four to Calgary, where she resided until 1999, at which time she moved to Red Deer to be closer to family. Mom worked for many years at Sears in the Catalogue Sales Department. Family was always Mom's focus: nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren were the treasures of her long life. She loved hockey, be it her grandsons or the Calgary Flames. She was known to everyone at arenas in Red Deer as Gramma, as she watched her four granddaughters play Ringette. When family got together she enjoyed cooking a big meal but only after a good game of cards. Mary is survived by her children, Anne Holden of Windsor, Ontario, Brian (Gail) Morgan of Red Deer and Gary (Carol) Morgan of O'Leary, Prince Edward Island; nine grandchildren, Ian (Lisa) Holden and Glen (Sandi) Holden, all of Amherstburg, Ontario, Beth (Pieter) van Wouw of Red Deer, Lisa (Mike) MacKenzie of Victoria, British Columbia, Judy Morgan and Lori Morgan, both of Calgary, Matthew Morgan, Brooke Morgan and Alex Morgan, all of O'Leary, Prince Edward Island and five great-grandchildren, Nicole Holden, Mitchell and Lia Holden, and Nico and Bastian van Wouw. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Margaret Rath of Ottawa, Ontario, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and dear friends. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Cliff in 1996, a brother Arthur White, sisters, Gladys Rhodes and Katherine McCallum. A Public Memorial Service will be held at EVENTIDE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4820 - 45 Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, November 24, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary's honour may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta and N.W.T., 101, 5208 - 53 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 5K2.
