GRUBB, Mary Ellen Ruth(Jensen) (nee Clark)It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Mary Ellen Grubb passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 in her 78th year. After a short and courageous fight against cancer, she passed away peacefully with family at her side. Beloved best friend and soul mate to her husband George. Cherished mother to Allan (Corinne) of Nanaimo, BC and Jimmy (Joanne) of Kingston, ON. Dear friend to George's children and family. Sister to Pauline (Robert) Kent of St. Catharines, ON and favourite aunt of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Lorne (Lorraine) and Gordon. Mary Ellen proudly served the RCAF from 1955-62, as part of the Dental Corps in England, Germany and Canada. In 1974, she became a registered dental hygienist until retirement in 1997. Mary Ellen was generous, selfless and always thought of others before herself. Her legacy was to always love, care and think of her family first. She will be sorely missed by many. Special Thanks to the Oncology and Palliative Care team of doctors, nurses and care aids on the 5th floor at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus for their compassionate care over the past few weeks. Friends may visit at the Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave. on Friday, July 11th from 2-3 pm followed by a burial in the National Military Cemetery at 3 pm.
