Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a difficult illness, on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital, Brockville; the former Mary-Ellen McDonald, a native of Renfrew, at the age of 70 years. Beloved mother of Brenda Peever of Ottawa, Patrick Leslie (Tammy) of Calgary, and Kevin Leslie (Penny) of Prescott. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Sandra, Katherine, Jennifer and Danielle Peever, Samantha and Paige Leslie. Dear sister of Elizabeth Stewart of Nepean and loving aunt of Susan, Sherry and Stephen. Predeceased by her husband John Leslie, her parents Patrick and Viola McDonald, and her brother-in-law Rod Stewart. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. In celebration of Mary-Ellen's life a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium with interment at Union Cemetery, Port Hope at a later date.
