Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Moore Morris was born on Jan. 15, 1943, in Sylacauga, Ala., to the late Lonnie and Janie Moore. She departed this life on July 15, 2008, at Pheobe Putney Memorial Hospital Albany. Mrs. Morris joined St. John Baptist Church (at an early age). She attended Fair Street School (class of 1960). She holds degrees from Apex Cosmetology School and was valedictorian, Utica Junior College and Albany State College, where she received her master's degree. Mrs. Morris was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and the Eastern Stars. Mrs. Morris leaves to cherish fond and loving memories her husband, John Morris Jr.; daughters, Patsy Casey and Sharon Morris; son, John (Mike) Morris; stepdaughter, Terra Morris; sisters, Linda and P. LaVerne Moore; brothers, Emmette, Lonnie and Rickey Moore. Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at St. John Baptist Church in the Historic Sanctuary.
