HALL, Mary Elizabeth Marsh "Betty May," 78, of Sebring, Fla., took her last voyage, to be welcomed into heaven Sunday, December 6, 2009. She was born in St. Mary' s, W.Va, to Harold Clarke Marsh Sr. and Margaret E. Marsh, who predeceased her. As a young girl, she, along with her family, relocated to Sebring, Fla. Betty graduated from Sebring High School, where she was a member of the band and a cheerleader. In Sebring, Betty met and married her beloved husband of 60 years, Don.Betty worked as an accountant for several years for Contel Telephone in Virginia and, later, Bell South in Virginia. After retiring early, she and Don set sail on their sailboat to travel the oceans. In 1987, they returned to Sebring to live out their lives. Betty enjoyed sailing, sewing and most of all, quilting, and spending time with her dear friends from her high school days, affectionately called "The Lunch Bunch."Betty was a member of the Sebring Historical Society, the First United Methodist Church of Sebring, and she was a member of the St. Mary' s chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald B. Hall Sr.; two half brothers, Sidney and Francis Marsh; and a brother, Harold C. Marsh Jr. She is survived by her son, Donald B. Hall Jr., and his wife, Jean, of Mathews, Va.: her daughter, Barbara Hall Watson and her husband, Bill, of Charleston, S.C.: two sisters, Alberta M. Ingle of Bonifay, Fla., and Judith Marsh Johnson and her husband Jerry of Boyce, Va.; and a brother, Robert A. Marsh of West Point, Ind. She also leaves to cherish her memory nine grand-children, Chris Harris, Donovan Hall, Jason Hall, Will Watson, Dedra Keoshian, Jarrod Fitzpatrick, Brandon Fitzpatrick, Brad Fitzpatrick and Trevor Fitzpatrick, and their spouses. She is also survived by 18 great-grand-children. A graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. December 19, 2009, at Pinecrest Cemetery, Sebring, Fla., with the Rev. A.C. Bryant of the First United Methodist Church, Sebring, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.
