THRENDYLE, Mary Elizabeth “Betty“ (nee Mitchell) - Found peace on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in her 77th year. Born in Port Dover, On to the late Clifford and Frances (Ball) Mitchell, she was the loving wife of Dr. Kenneth Threndyle of Courtright for 53 years. She will be cherished always by; her children, Maryan, John (Trena), Alison, and Andrew; her grandchildren, Kyle, Brett, Cole, Katherine, Alison, Nicolas and Blake. Dear sister of Evelyn Mitchell of Port Dover; sister-in-law of Rose Marie Threndyle, Shirleyan Threndyle, Mary Lou Raeburn-Gibson and Douglas (Brenda) Threndyle; cousin of Clarence (Joyce) Mitchell, William and Calvin Cowan. She will also be remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. She shared a strong bond of friendship with so many including childhood friends, Jacques and Em. An RN, Betty trained at Victoria Hospital, London. Throughout her life she was an active member of the Presbyterian Church. Service to her Church and community was curtailed by advancing MS with which she carried on valiantly for 40 years. Thank you to the nursing staff at the continuing care unit of Bluewater Health, Sarnia for their kindness in the last four months. Friends will be received at the KNIGHT FUNERAL HOME 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Corunna on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dan Roushorne officiating. Interment will follow in Sutherland Cemetery.
