1914-2014 MADISON - Mary Elizabeth (Garland) Jackson, 99, passed away October 3, 2014, at Maple Crest Rehabilitation and Living Center in Madison. She was born December 26, 1914, in Anson, the daughter of Frederick and Katherine (Flannery) Garland. She was educated in local area schools and graduated from Madison High School in 1932. In 1937, she married Russell Jackson, who passed away in 1973. She was employed for many years at Carrabassett Lodging for woodsmen and became a homemaker after her marriage to Russell. Mary was a life-long member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and loved her home, family, neighbors, helping others, holiday, cooking and baking wonderful pies, and working in her vegetable garden. Keeping busy was her motto for wellness. Mary is survived by her son, Patrick Jackson, of Rockland; daughter Kathleen Lindahl and husband Hank of Owls Head; grandson Thomas Lindahl and wife Diane and family of Owls Head; granddaughter Hannah Lindahl of Topsham; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell; a son, Brian; 2 sisters, Evangelina Furbush and Virginal Lloyd; and 2 brothers, Raymond Garland and Robert Garland. A graveside service will be held October 25, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Cemetery in Madison.
