ATKINS - Mary Elizabeth Jackson of Long Beach, NY, originally from Richmond, VT, passed away on January 25, 2015 at her home in Long Beach, NY. Daughter of Archie and Louisa Jackson, Mary grew up in Richmond, VT, and moved to Long Beach in the 1960s. She enjoyed a 23-year career as a flight attendant with TWA. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, laughing with her friends, and tending to her animals. Mary is survived by her husband, Robert H. Atkins Jr., and daughter, Allison A. Atkins; her sisters Joyce Walworth and Catherine Scribner; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held at The People's Church in Long Beach, NY on February 8, 2015 at 1pm. Burial will follow in the spring in Vermont. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center, 33 Warner Road, Huntington, NY 11743.
