Mary Elizabeth Hicks Oakmont PA Mary Elizabeth Hicks, 98, a former 40-year resident of Clinton, died October 1, 2009 at Presbyterian SeniorCare in Oakmont, PA. Elizabeth was born June 9, 1911 in East Orange, NJ to Frank and Mary Jane (Williams) Hicks. She graduated from Columbia High School in South Orange, NJ and from Beaver College in Jenkintown, PA. She taught kindergarten for many years in the West Orange, NJ school system. After moving to Clinton, she was an active member of the Clinton United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Martin Luther Home. She is survived by her brother and his wife, John and Betty Hicks of Three Lakes, WI; a niece, Karen Smith, of Oakmont and grandniece, Ashley Smith, of Cleveland Heights, OH, as well as many cousins. Among those in the Utica area are Ed Wardner (Ginny) (Holland Patent), Robert Greystone (Utica), and Gwendolyn Lett (Marcy). A memorial service will be held in the Clinton United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 19, 2009. Interment will be in the Rosedale Cemetery in Orange, NJ.
