Of Hudson, Quebec, died peacefully on March 7, 2003, following a lengthy illness. Born November 6, 1920 in Troy, Ohio, to the late Helen Baird Hall and G. Gordon Hall. Lovingly remembered by her husband Dr. Ralph Staples Edmison ; her four children, Robert (Joanne), Martha (Walter) Langford, Janet Edmison, Judy (Peter) Gordon. Loved by grandchildren Judi, Robin, Mary, Helen, Emily, Heather and Katie and great-grandchildren Blaire and Jackson; brother Clay, of Kitchener, Ontario and predeceased by sister Helen and brother Dick. Mary moved with her family to Kitchener, Ontario in 1926. She attended McGill University where she met Ralph. They married on April 3, 1943. Mary volunteered her time generously to many organizations. She was an avid golfer, skier and badminton player. Mary is fondly remembered as a loving, kind, and gentle person, whose quiet, tolerant demeanor left a legacy of humour, peace and serenity. The family extends a special thanks to the Hudson V.O.N., especially nurse Ann Sullivan. A service of celebration of Mary's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at Wyman United Church, Hudson. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Mary's name to the V.O.N. (Hudson Branch) or the West Island Palliative Care Residence (265 Andre Brunet, Kirkland, QC H9H 3R4) would be appreciated.
