RHINEBECK Mary Elizabeth Betty Decker, 87, of Rhinebeck, died peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Rhinebeck on June 22, 1918, she was the daughter of John James and Mary Marshall Hardie. She was married to Robert L. Decker who predeceased her in 1966. Betty is survived by her five children and their spouses, David G. and Peggy Decker of New Paltz, Mary C. and Frank Luzzi of Rhinebeck, Philip J. and Nancy Decker of Somerville, N.J., Emilie D. and Roger Wright of Berne and Timothy R. and Susan Decker of Rhinebeck. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Benjamin Decker, Jeffrey Decker, Jonathan Decker, Robert (Lisa) Luzzi, Michael (Katie) Luzzi, Anthony (Jill) Luzzi, Sean (Jessica) Decker, Colleen (Steve) Runyon, Stephen Decker, Molly Wright, Robert Wright, Rachel (Matthew) Van Wormer, and Daniel Decker. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Sam and Will Luzzi and Anna Decker and a great-nephew, Robert Forbes. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, January 25 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home at 51 West Market Street in Rhinebeck. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Messiah in Rhinebeck on Saturday, January 28 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Church following the service.
