Larry Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.Mrs. Collins died October 5, 2010.She was born in Jackson, TN, daughter of the late James C. and Mary Lou Swinford Newland. Mrs. Collins was a homemaker and retired owner/operator of Dixie Kreme Donut Shop. She was a member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church.Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by a son, Tony Collins; three sisters and two brothers.She leaves her husband of 50 years, Thomas C. Collins; three daughters, Amanda (Trevor) Driver, Amy (Brandon) Hill, all of Jackson and Renee (Kasi) Collins of Jackson, MS; a son, Kevin (Ann) Collins of Evansville, IN; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Martin of Jackson.Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home, 731-424-2424
