->Mary CandidaBaisi EdwardsPoughkeepsie - Mary Candida Baisi Edwards, a long-time resident of Dutchess County, passed away on November 10, 2011 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was 83. The daughter of the late Alfred and Letizia Moretti Baisi, she was born on September 17, 1928 in the Bronx, NY, where she later attended St. Mary's grammar school and Evander Childs High School.A devoted daughter, she cared for her elderly parents while working as a Bridal Buyer for Bonwit Teller in Manhattan, and eventually as a Maintenance Agreement Manager for Sears.Mary is well remembered for her love of people, especially her late husband, Ray Augustus Edwards Jr., who she married on April 5, 1959. They shared a love of travel, and took car trips throughout the United States, collecting souvenir patches that their eldest daughter assembled in a colorful wall decoration for her mother's Poughkeepsie apartment following the death of Ray Jr. in September 2009.In addition to her beloved husband, Mary was predeceased by her brothers Gene and Dino, sisters Jane and Rina, and grandchildren Cody and Amanda. She is survived by daughters Mary Elizabeth Edwards and her partner Margaret Marchesin; and Charline Rae Edwards; also granddaughter Cecelia Neta Edwards. Mary also cared greatly for her niece and nephews: Katrina Baisi, Alfred Tomkins, Stephen Paul DeVillo, Christopher Jason Clyne, Francis Joseph Clyne, Ray Augustus Clyne, and Raymond Baisi ; plus her grand-nephews Gareth Orion Clyne and Matthew Aaron Clyne. In addition, she will be sorely missed by her sister- and brother-in-law Patricia and Francis G.
