Mary Edith "Edi" Gibson, 91, died Aug. 17, 2011, at her home. She was born in Uniontown, Pa., and lived in Stuart, coming from Fort Lauderdale. She retired from U.S. Steel Corp. in Pittsburgh as a telephone supervisor. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Samuel of Stuart; son, Kenneth, also of Stuart; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Gibson Nechay; brother, Jackson Keys; and sister, Grace Waddle. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL 34994. Services: A funeral was conducted in Pleasant Hills, Pa.
