SMITH, Mary E., 96, of Dade City, died Thursday, December 11, 2003 at Royal Oak Nursing Center. A native of Columbia, South Carolina, she moved to this area in 1999 from Lakeland. She was a retired business owner having obtained the first liquor license issued to a female in the State of South Carolina. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg, S.C. Survivors include two sons, Russell Smith of Jacksonville, Fla., and Carl Smith of Orangeburg; two granddaughters, Susan Gartman of Orangeburg, and Teresa Perkins of Dade City; and numerous other grand- children and great-grand- children. Funeral services will be held in Orangeburg. A memorial service will be held in the First United Methodist Church in Dade City at a later date.
