Phelps-Mary E. Rogers 88 of 144 Main Street died Thursday September 19, 2002 at Serenity House in Victor. Friends may call on Sunday, September 22, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Cheney Funeral Home 70, Main Street Phelps. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 Am in the Funeral Home followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am in St Francis Church in Phelps with the Rev. Edward Dillon officiatng. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Ovid, NY. Mary was born on March 11, 1914 in Varick NY the daughter of the late Peter and May Bishop Murphy. Mary was very active in the Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Francis Church in Phelps or Serenity House, 1278 Brace Road Victor, NY 14564. Mary is survived by her children Catherine (Charles) Erwin of Seminole FL., Arthur (Margaret) Rogers of Rochester, Foster Rogers of Rochester; nine Grandchildren 10 great-grandchildrenniece and nephew cousins and many, many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest F. Rogers and her stepmother Mae Brown.
