Mary gave her full attention to being a loving wife, mother and caregiver. For many years she took care of individuals in their homes, and at age 60, she became the Dietary Aide for the Greece Senior Citizen Program at Bethany Presbyterian Church. In this position she was able to do what she had always done best; meet the needs of others. She retired at age 75 in 1992, but remained in touch with many of the friends she had made with her ready smile and kind ways. In January, 2003 she went to live at Monroe Community Hospital, which she referred to as "the last stop" on the road of life. She was a strong woman who preferred to do for herself whatever she could, right to the end. She would say, "God helps them, who help themselves." The family wishes to thank all past and present staff on Faith 3 East for the wonderful care Mary received over the years. She loved and cared about each of them in return. The family also thanks each and every Hospice Nurse, who helped care for Mary during the last couple of years. They were there to start her day and along with Vicki DeWolf and Amy Sue Peglow made life so much better. Keeping with her wishes her body is donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Rochester Medical School. Friends are invited to her Memorial Service on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave., Rochester, NY 14612. A Luncheon will follow. Interment will be private.
