Mary E. Manthey (nee Carroll), 95, beloved wife of the late Robert B. Manthey, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013. Funeral is at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from the Megaro Memorial Home, 503 Union Ave., Belleville, N.J. (megaromemorialhome.com). Mass is 11 a.m. at Church of St. Peter, 155 Williams St., Belleville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J. Visitation is on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Born and raised in Jersey City, N.J., Mary lived most of her life in Belleville, N.J., moving to Point Pleasant, N.J., just two months ago. Mary graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in Jersey City, N.J., and was a pediatric nurse in a surgical unit at Saint Barnabas Medical Center for 10 years. She was a very active member of the Church of St. Peter in Belleville as a past president of the Rosary Society, a member of the Catholic Daughters, a Eucharistic minister tending to the sick at Clara Maass Medical Center, and a very successful fund raiser and event planner for the parish. She spent many years preparing students for the sacrament of Confirmation in CCD classes. Mary was the devoted mother of Robert P. Manthey and his wife, Carolyn, and Barbara Rambaldi and her husband, Joe. She leaves her five loving grandchildren, Joseph Rambaldi and his wife, Tammy, Jeffrey Rambaldi and his wife, Melissa, Robert M. Manthey, Caroline Asbaty and her husband, Frank, and Marc Rambaldi and his wife, Diana. She was the treasured great-grandmother of Brooke Rambaldi, Anthony and Sienna Rambaldi, Braden and Luke Asbaty, and Jake Rambaldi.
