Mary Brissey Davis, of 202 Robinall Drive, wife of the late Marion Davis, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley. Born in Piedmont, a daughter of the late William J. and Lula Mae Parris Brissey, Mrs. Davis spent the early part of her life graduating from Piedmont High School and Draughns Business College in Greenville. Mrs. Davis and her husband moved to Easley in 1948 and founded the business of Marion Davis, Inc., where she was Vice President and Executive Secretary until the sale of the business to its present owner. For many years, Mrs. Davis had a great interest in the Foundation Board of Palmetto Baptist Hospital and also Tri-County Technical College. She has been a member of First Baptist Church, Easley, since 1948, where she served as a teacher and worker in the Junior Department of the Sunday School, the WMU, the Friendship Club, the Fidelis Sunday School Class, and more recently, she had a great interest in the Davis Benevolent Program of the church, which will continue. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Danieley and her husband, Darnell, of Easley; a brother, J. Alton Brissey of Anderson (formerly of North Miami, Fla.); a sister-in-law, Carrie Lucy Brissey of Easley; many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Thomas and Barbara Watson of Pickens. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Davis was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Wilson; and by a brother, William C. Brissey Sr. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Easley, with Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Charles L. Gillespie, Virgil Herrin, William F. Davis III, Joe Davis, Jason Gillespie and Thomas Watson. Honorary escort will be Dr. and Mrs. Don Garrison, W.L. Fortner, Ozie Garrett, Garnett Barnes, Bob Watson, Greg Watson, members of the Fidelis Sunday School Class and members of the Coley Cleveland Sunday School Class. The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, and will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Friday, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. in the narthex of the church, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, 300 East First Ave., Easley, SC 29640. The family is at the home of Charles and Dianne Gillespie, 200 Robinall Drive, Easley, SC 29642. Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown is assisting the family with arrangements.
