Mary Corneila Cox, age 81, widow of Perry L. Cox of 316 Maria Drive, Anderson, SC, died on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at her residence. Born on Jan. 18, 1924, in Hart County, Ga., Mrs. Cox was the daughter of the late Felton Norris and the late Omie Gillespie Norris. She retired from Anderson Area Medical Center. She was also a member of Centerville Church of God and the Eastern Star.Mrs. Cox is survived by two sons, Bobby Cox of Townville, S.C., and Roger Cox of Travelers Rest, S.C.; a brother, Willie Norris of Walhalla, S.C.; two sisters, Essie Mae Stone of Central, S.C., and Shirley White of Hartwell, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Melvin Norris; and a sister, Hazel Stone.Funeral services will be held at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel, Anderson, S.C., on Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at 2 p.m. officiated by Pastor Ben Lumley, Pastor Terry Collins, and Rev. Greg Nix. Entombment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park Mausoleum at 4 p.m.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, S.C. today, Sept. 18, 2005, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.The family is at the residence.Flowers are optional.
