Mary Christine Gunter Fillingim September 11, 1950- March 1, 2015 Salem, AL- Mary Christine Gunter Fillingim, 64, of Salem, AL passed away Sunday evening, March 1, 2015 at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EST Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Jeff Dravenstott officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home and also Thursday afternoon one hour prior to the funeral service at Vance Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Fillingim was born September 11, 1950 in Phenix City, AL to the late Dicie Mae Fuqua. She was retired from The Bibb Mill with 26 years of service and also worked with Denham North America in the textile industries. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Smiths Station, where she enjoyed many types of church and fellowship works. She was very devoted to her church, she also loved to hear Gospel singing and enjoyed the many visits around town where gospel sings where held. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Tew. She is survived by her husband, Terrell Fillingim of Salem, AL, one son Jason Fillingim of Salem, AL, a very special nephew, Jody Tew of Phenix City, AL, sister, Lorene Garner of Phenix City, AL, two special great-nieces whom she loved as her grandchildren, Chelsea and Gabby Tew, a very dear close friend, Jean Carr, all her loving family members, her church family, and many many other caring friends
