She was born in Capaldo, Kansas on September 14, 1921. She was the daughter of Alfonso and Serafina Pugliano Serra.Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Cerniglia, son Thomas Cerniglia, and siblings Frank Serra and Ralph Serra.She is beloved and will be greatly missed but celebrated as a dedicated, loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sibling and friend. Mary will be remembered for a big heart, caring and generous disposition, playful nature, enduring spirit, and many a delicious, comforting meal.She is survived by her daughter Jayne Zahaba, son-in-law, Thomas Robert Zahaba of Bainbridge Island, Washington, three grandchildren, Lara and Danielle Zahaba of Seattle, Washington, and Chantale DiFeo of White Plains, New York as well as three great-grandchildren, Emery Zahaba Benson and Thayer Zahaba Benson of Seattle, Washington and Justin DiFeo of White Plains, New York, sisters Julia Schiavo of Yonkers, New York, Edith Vodola of Peekskill, New York and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces, & great-nephews.Visiting will be on Mon from 4-8 PM, and Funeral Mass on Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m. at St Anthony's of Padua Church, West Harrison.
