ObituaryMrs. Mary "May" Catherine Malone, age 90 (October 21, 1915) a resident of N. Fort Myers died Thursday June 15, 2006 at Hope Hospice North in Cape Coral. May was a native of Miami and the third of four children. She was known by all as a kind, generous and loving woman. She gave freely of herself to her family, church and the community. As a girl May attended a Catholic Jesuit Convent where she graduated as a class Valedictorian. After marrying James C. Malone she worked for 40 years for Major Appliances and was an active member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary serving in local, state and national offices. Mrs. Malone was Past President of the Pioneers Club of Miami which was an organization made up of family members of the original settlers of Miami. She was an active member of the Catholic Church of St. Dominics in Miami where she an organist, secretary and lecturer. In 1996 May left Miami to move in with her youngest son in Jensen Beach, FL. In 2001 she settled down here in Fort Myers with her oldest son and numerous grandchildren.May is survived by two sons, James R. Malone (Brenda), N. Fort Myers and Walter K. Malone, Okeechobee; sister, Amelia "Blickie" Buzan, Orlando, niece, Suzy Buzan, Orlando, nephews David Buzan, Orlando and Michael Buzan (Pam), Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Joyce, Timothy, Vicki, Linda, Kenneth, Ryan , Samantha, Devin, Charlie, Josh, Bryant, Ernie, Dustin, Eddie, Bradley, Arden, Madison, Matthew, Aaron, Ashleigh, Maegan, Brandon and Brooke.The family has asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Legion or Hospice Foundation.Services for Mrs. "May" Malone will be held Monday June 19, 2006 at the St. Therese Catholic Church, 20115 N. Tamiami Hwy. with burial to follow in the Lee Memorial Park, Fort Myers. Friends may call Sunday evening June 18 from 6-8 PM at the National Cremation Society Chapel, 3453 Hancock Bridge Pkwy., N. Fort Myers.
