CARLSON, Mary Alyce 80, formerly of Largo, died Sept. 30, 2011, in Atlanta, GA. Born in Clearwater, predeceased by parents, Elmer Clarence and Myrtle Guy Carlson. Partner and operator of the Arcade Drug Store, Largo. In 1969, she received her Masters in Business Admin. from Georgia State University. The first U.S. woman to have a china pattern named after her, by Royal Doulton. In Nashville, TN, she was copywriter for the Harvey Co. and the Methodist Publishing House. In Atlanta, GA, she was Manager for the Children's Department, Neiman Marcus, Assistant Manager for Alpha Printing & Mailing Co., Editor for AT&T employee newsletter and Half Hour, Haverty Furniture's magazine, Copywriter for Davison-Paxon Co., member of Atlanta Press Club, International and Georgia's Association of Business Communicators, former Executive Director of Southern Association of Business Communicators. Survived by cousins Adele Ludlam Garcia and husband, Robert and children, of Houston, TX, Laura Paschall Brown and husband, Philip and daughter, D'Lytha, of Ft. Worth, TX, Belker D. Paschall and wife, Melissa and children, of Ft. Worth, TX. Graveside Service 1 pm Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Largo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Atlanta.
