BUCKSPORT - Mary C. (Lydick) Herbest Millett, 66, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at her home, with her loving and devoted family by her side. She was born July 31, 1942, on Verona Island, a daughter of James E. and Clara (Bridges) Lydick. Mary was very talented at and loved crafting, sewing, painting and cooking. She also enjoyed spending time with her beloved family, yard sales, fishing, camping and barbecue. She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her husband, Philip H. Millett; her children, Milton Herbest and wife, Lynn, of Bucksport, Clara Ward of Bucksport, Annelisa Cotier and husband, Todd, of Prospect, Rowena Hutson of Bucksport, and Myrond Herbest and wife, Kimberly McLaughlin, of Bucksport; grandchildren, Tiffany Herbest, Joshua Herbest, Jamie Ward, Todd Cotier Jr., Ami Cotier, Dustin Herbest, Devin Bridges, Zacharia Herbest, Joseph Herbest and Brianna Herbest; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Lyndon Lydick, Jacueline Manuel and husband, Joseph, Guendolyn Gray, James Lydick and Gail Kelley; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Milton R. Herbest. The family extends special gratitude to Gary and Lynette Grindle, Elaine and Kevin Morey, Faye and Sherri George, Lynn Herbest, and the nursing staff of the sixth floor CancerCare at Eastern Maine Medical Center for their loving and devoted care of Mary. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at Riverview Cemetery, River Road, Bucksport, with the Rev. Laurie Hall officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
