Mary C. Carter, 83, Venice, died June 2, 2006. She was born March 23, 1923, in Birmingham, Ala., and came to Venice from there in 1957. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include daughters Beth Johnson of Venice and June Hobson of Naples; a son, Roy E. Jr. of Venice; sisters Louise of Mobile, Ala., and Margaret Stringer of Pleasant Hill, Ala.; a brother, F.L. of Huntsville, Ala.; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Ewing Funeral Home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Venice Memorial Gardens.
