DODD, MARY BUSH, 89, of Louisville, died Saturday, May 27, 2006 at the Episcopal Church Home. Born in Danville on March 20, 1917, Mrs. Dodd was the daughter of Richard Bush Nichols and Harriet Arnold Nichols. She was a graduate of Centre College. After her marriage to Allen Peeler Dodd, Jr. who predeceased her, she moved to Louisville. For many years she was active in the Younger Woman's Club and was a former member of the Speed Travel Committee and the Filson Club. She was also a founding member and a deacon of Calvin Presbyterian Church and a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. As a volunteer she tested eyes in the public schools and was a docent at the Speed Museum. Mrs. Dodd enjoyed bridge, gardening, travel and good conversation. She is survived by two children, Allen P. Dodd III (Ulla Maria), Louisville and Harriet Dodd Port (George F.), Grosse Pointe, MI.; a half brother, Richard Bush Nichols (Claire), Middleburg, VA.; four grandchildren, Mary Bush Port, Chicago; Elizabeth Dodd Lococo (Joshua), Louisville; Diana Port Baker (John), San Francisco and Allen McKee Dodd (Portia), Louisville and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 2501 Rudy Lane with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the church.
